Trilliums may not be the first spring wildflower to bloom, but they are the most dramatic of the early spring bloomers. If left undisturbed they can form wide blankets covering the forest floor. This image was taken in a small county park near my home. Although not the large blankets found farther north, many of the patches are quite dense and the forest floor here is uncluttered making it perfect for photography.  Soft morning light breaking through the fog provided perfect illumination for their soft white petals.
