Over the years I have been asked, “Do you or would you ever do a workshop or trip?” Although I’d love to do that, I never seemed to have the time to do it properly or handle the extra administrative work. But now, I would like to offer you the opportunity to join me on a tour I will be a  participant on in Alaska. A Northern Lights  Tour – October 27th to November 2nd, 2024 by Expeditions Alaska.

After a winter spent unsuccessfully chasing Auroras in Northern Wisconsin and Michigan, I began to research possible other, more predictable locations to chase and photograph them. Fairbanks quickly became a top prospect. After reviewing a great deal of information, I came to the realization that it would be much more successful, economical, and safer for me to go with an experienced tour operator rather than doing it on my own. After all, I’m going to the artic circle in very late fall and am not familiar with that area. After reviewing several tour operators, I settled on Carl Donohue, Expeditions Alaska’s owner who will be leading this trip. He was nice enough to add a second trip to match my availability schedule. The timing of this trip also coincides with the new moon, the best time for Aurora photography.
