“One More Twist”

Door County, WI

The first images I took of this well-known road at the tip of the Door County peninsula was taken during a dazzling autumn season. It soon became one of my most popular images. Then I was able to capture the same road after a beautiful winter snowstorm. Now, to complete the set, I captured it again in late spring shortly after leaf-out to provide One More Twist to this unusual road. I have talked to several people to find out why this road has all these curves. Everyone seems to have their own explanation. Some say it’s to attract tourists, others believe it’s to slow down traffic. The best explanation I’ve heard is that’s how it was first made as a carriage trail and it was just never straightened out.

Purchase Options

Museum Wrapped Canvas

Our most popular print type. Museum Wrapped Canvas Prints are made using high quality archival professional grade inks and canvas. Each canvas print is sealed with a water resistant satin finish and museum wrapped over high quality stretcher frames to prevent warping. Black sides allow you to hang without a frame for a simple presentation. For a more formal fine art look we offer (and recommend) a shadow box floater frame which greatly enhances the finished look giving it both a classic and contemporary appearance. The rich and vibrant colors of each image seem to pop from the canvas. Many people comment canvas prints give the feel of a fine painting and make you feel like you are there and could walk right into the picture.

After printing the edges are torn by hand and matted in a raised shadow-box style to highlight the torn edges. Textured Fine Art Prints are framed with a variety of frame styles and colors to complement each image, archival arctic white mattes, and picture glass.
