There’s a serenity that emerges around the lakes of the North Woods in late September and early October. Many, if not most of the summer crowds are gone. The cool crisp nights often interacts with the warm lake water to create morning mist and fog creating a sense of solitude and wilderness. You can still hear the haunting call of loons before they begin their migration south. It’s a wonderful time to visit and photograph before the harshness of winter arrives. This small lake is one of my favorites but is often crowded the rest of the year due to the small but popular campground just a short distance away from this dock.

Hand Torn Textured Fine Art Paper

After printing the edges are torn by hand and matted in a raised shadow-box style to highlight the torn edges.
